We can feel uncomfortable and unsure when dealing with issues about race and culture. The course aims to address this by developing participants’ confidence and by presenting opportunities to identify the barriers that can be created by different attitudes, beliefs and values. The course enables participants to work towards making services more inclusive.

Aim:
To aid participants gain awareness of issues relating to diversity, respectfully challenge stereotypes and learn how attitudes, beliefs and values can impact on the way we communicate and work.
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:
develop confidence in working with BME groups
identify how attitudes, beliefs and values can affect the way we work
recognise gaps in service provision
develop knowledge and awareness of the issues relating to diversity
