Have you recently assumed responsibility for managing others? Plan practical ways to balance the demands of the task, the process of getting work done, and the needs of your team. Reflect on the type of leader you want to be and receive individual feedback on your management style by completing two questionnaires, the KAI and Leadership Style Inventory.

This course aims to:

  • Provide practical ways to balance the demands of management tasks, the process of getting work done, and the needs of your team members 
  • Reflect on the type of leader you want to be
   
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:
  • Distinguish between task, process and people issues and understand the skills involved in managing each
  • Understand how their preferred management styles influence their team's working climate
  • Learn creative thinking techniques for generating many ideas in a short time
  • Practise the coaching and feedback skills needed for developing people's potential
