Aim

To develop the groups understanding of critical issues in working with drug use and addiction.

   
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

  • understand the context of drug use
  • describe the key concepts of dependency and addiction
  • understand the philosophy of harm reduction
  • identify the client’s readiness for change
  • assess the clients needs and make appropriate referral \ interventions
