To understand the role of Brief Solution Focussed Therapy in a trans-theoretical approach to counselling problematic behaviours.    
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:
  • explore assumptions about preparation for change
  • help develop client directed approaches
  • recognise the influence of the helper on motivation
  • practice key skills in Brief Solution Focussed Therapy
  • recognise the effectiveness and limitations of Brief Solution Focussed Therapy
  • understand the role of Brief Solution Focussed Therapy in the context of a broader counselling framework
