Venue: In-person. All courses take place at accessible venues in Bristol
Course overview:
Exploring and adopting an experiential approach to learning in groups, you will discover how to put learning theories into practice.
Use tools for training design, discuss a range of learning methods and approaches for accessibility and engagement, identify responses to difficulties in groups and ways of transferring training to practice.
The course provides opportunities to practise delivering training and receive constructive feedback to develop or refresh your skills.
Aim(s):
To develop participants’ training skills.
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:
- Find out about a range of learning theories
- Consider factors and tools for training design
- Discuss a range of learning methods and approaches for accessibility and engagement
- Identify ways of managing difficulties in groups
- Practise training and receive feedback on individual strengths and areas for improvement
- Discuss ways of transferring training to practice
Maximum group size: 12

Jo Bush
Jo is the Director of The Training Exchange. Jo has a wealth of experience in the development, management and delivery of training.
Jo manages the organisation as well as developing and co-ordinating training and consultancy projects, ranging from small community based initiatives to large scale regional and national programmes for Local Authorities, NHS Partnerships, and Voluntary Sector services.
With a background in Youth & Community Work, Jo holds 3 post graduate qualifications in Adult Education, Management, and Research in Health & Wellbeing. Jo has been involved in delivering training for trainers and drug & alcohol awareness and interventions training at professional and community levels for over 30 years.
