Course overview:

Put wellbeing at the heart of your leadership approach to develop thriving teams with this practical and immersive Mental Health First Aid England course.

This evidence-based course is ideal for people managers who want to help create an open culture around mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, increasing talent retention and reducing the impact of presenteeism and long-term sickness. Promote a healthy performance culture, by role modelling good self-care practice; and gain skills and confidence to identify signs of poor mental health, have conversations about mental health and encourage people to seek support.

 

Aim(s):

To promote a healthy performance culture, by giving skills and confidence to have conversations about mental health and encourage people to seek support.

 

Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will have had opportunities to:

  • Identify if an employee may be experiencing poor mental health
  • Feel confident having open conversations about mental health with your team members
  • Appropriately signpost to available support and know where to go for support and guidance for yourself
  • Role model good self-care practice, inspiring your teams to look after their own mental health and wellbeing

Your trainer(s)

Suzanne Pearson

Suzanne Pearson is a BABCP Accredited CBT therapist and a Registered Mental Health Nurse. She also has a PGCE in Adult Education. Suzanne has extensive and ongoing experience of supporting individuals to develop their resilience and well-being, and in supporting those recovering from mental and emotional distress.

 

She has worked in the NHS and voluntary sector as a therapist, mental health practitioner and service manager. Currently she provides a low cost in-person and online CBT therapy service for adults. Suzanne has been a longstanding volunteer with a peer led self-help group for people who self-harm, and she has also volunteered for a national out of hours crisis service.

 

She continues to be involved with various local mental health related charities as an advisor. She is an experienced independent mental health and social care trainer including being a qualified instructor for the Mental Health First Aid (Adult and Youth) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST) courses.
